RHP Mike King has been promoted to Double-A Trenton, the team announced. The 22-year-old had a 1.79 ERA (2.39 FIP) with 27.4% strikeouts, 6.1% walks, and 59.8% grounders in 40.1 innings with High-A Tampa. The Yankees got him from the Marlins in the Caleb Smith/Garrett Cooper trade.

Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (9-2 loss to Buffalo)

• RHP Dillon Tate: 6 IP, 6 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 3 K, 1 HB, 8/6 GB/FB — 57 of 82 pitches were strikes (70%) … no more than two runs allowed in six of his eight starts … 33/10 K/BB in 41.1 innings … I really hope the strikeout rate ticks up at some point
