How 9/11 impacted baseball travel

Dan Barbarisi has a great article up in the Wall Street Journal today, looking at how baseball teams travel these days compared to the pre-9/11 days. Back then, they didn’t even go through security. They’d walk right from the bus to the plane without being screened, but now they go through the security process like everyone else, just in a slightly different way. They go through the security check at the stadium (going through the terminal would present a whole other set of problems), then ride screened buses with security right onto the tarmac.
